How to Experience the Arts Scene in Linden

Updated: Aug 16, 2023

Linden, Tennessee has no shortage of artists eager to share their creations—both via exhibitions and permanent souvenirs you can take home with you. Packed with visual art displays as well as musical events, Perry County's largest town teems with ways to enjoy the arts. Here's where to find art in Linden.

Buffalo River Artisans Cooperative

One of the organizations spearheading art in Linden is the Buffalo River Artisans Cooperative, an art gallery where artists display and sell their works in the downtown. The gallery opened its doors 15 years ago during the Blooming Arts Festival, according to Melissa Goodwin, owner of the gallery. City leaders supported the initiative from the start and provided a welcoming space for artisans to share ideas and connect with the public.

“Our mission is to bring art to the community and the community to art,” Goodwin says. “We have a place where makers can bring professional-level, handmade art for the community and for people passing through and expose them to art. We have exhibits and we give classes.”

Goodwin is a weaver, interested in historical reproduction of cloth. Her gallery also features sculptures, paintings, pottery, mosaics and even dreamcatchers.
