Looking Forward To: The Slawburger Festival
This Saturday, April 19th, Fayetteville celebrates the humble Slawburger- and we can’t wait to join them! This Saturday’s Slawburger Festival is sure to bring out a big crowd and a lot of fun for the whole family.

There is truly something for everyone at this festival. The organizers have been hard at work assembling the Biergarten, or as I call it, the “Husband-Sitting Corner.” There’s a kid zone with rides and games that are fun enough to tempt the adults in attendance. The shops on the square open up their doors, and craft vendors line the streets of downtown Fayetteville. Of course, plenty of food trucks will be present as well to ruin everyone’s diets with their delicious offerings.

The contests are a highlight of the day, with a kids’ ice cream eating contest, a slaw dog eating contest, and of course, the Slawburger Eating Contest! In the evening, the music kicks off and the square turns into a dance party.

Fayetteville knows how to throw a party, so make sure to come join us as we celebrate the Slawburger this weekend!
Camp Blount
We think that all history buffs should visit Camp Blount in Fayetteville. This spot is where Tennessee earned the nickname “The Volunteer State.”

The plaques onsite do a wonderful job explaining the history of the Camp. There were several really big names that were a part of the gathering at Camp Blount- including General Andrew Jackson, David Crockett, Sam Houston, and many more.

We enjoyed diving into the history of Tennessee Volunteer troops and what makes our state's history so special!
The Market at Buckley Farm
When in Fayetteville, there is no fresher “farm-to-fork” food than at The Market at Buckley Farm. Located at 25 Boonshill Road, the Buckley Farm Market carries a wonderful variety of local artisan goods along with their farm products. Jessica Buckley only chooses the best to stock her shelves, freezers, and fridges. The beef, pork, and chicken are always of the highest quality.

We recently visited The Market for lunch to check out their hot lunch options as well as their freshly prepared salads. We chose the delicious brisket sandwich and grilled cheese and enjoyed our meals while sitting out on the front porch, admiring the rolling hills of Lincoln County.

The Market stays busy, with folks popping by to grab a quick bite or one of the great pre-prepared meal options to take home to their families. It’s a great combination of convenience and extremely high quality. We recommend following The Market at Buckley Farm on Facebook to keep up with their menus and specials. Some of our favorites to stock up on are the pimiento cheese and the smoked chicken salad.

Take the drive to Fayetteville to visit Buckley farm, and make sure you bring a cooler with you to store all the goodies you’ll find!
Remember: don't just travel Tennessee, EXPERIENCE TENNESSEE!
