We absolutely love getting out on sunny, winter days. Recently we made the most of a beautiful day to visit Granddad’s in Manchester. We timed our outing to arrive for lunch, which turned out to be a very delicious meal!

Located at 620 Woodbury Hwy. at exit 110 off I24, the building has a rich history with BBQ; The popular Prater’s closed on Dec. 23 then reopened on Jan. 6 as Granddad’s. Mr. Prater, aka Granddad, led the charge for the name change, which fits the personality of this place.
They offer a hearty lunch buffet, freshly prepared for hungry visitors. On the day we visited they featured brisket burnt ends, salmon patties, and meatloaf along with all the sides you could want. We found a seat and chose to order off the menu because we wanted BBQ and onion rings. We were NOT disappointed. The onion rings are the best, especially with their house hot BBQ sauce drizzled on top.

Granddad’s is not just a great restaurant, but a music venue, with a stage out back surrounded by tables and benches for the audience. Be sure to follow them on Facebook at Grandad’s, LLC to get their music lineup and the daily menu. Granddad’s has collaborated with their neighbor, the award-winning Common John Brewery, because “What goes best with BBQ? A cold locally crafted beer.” The proprietors know that partnering with other businesses is key to success and happy customers. Smart!

We were impressed with the restaurant manager Julie who visited all the tables, ensuring that each guest was happy with their food and service. She has a hard-working crew who take pride in the delicious food and customer care they give everyone.
We had a great waiter named Johnnie who was helpful and attentive. Shout out of thanks to Johnnie. We appreciate your positive attitude and pleasant smile.

Make plans to visit Granddad's. It's a fun place with great food and quality service.
