Swiss Pantry: Home-Baked and Made with Love

Consider Belvidere, TN for your next small town adventure. For starters, the name of the town means "beautiful sight" in Italian, and Belvidere definitely lives up to that name. Enjoy the hike to the Walls of Jericho waterfall, take a horseback ride along the trails at Circle E Ranch, or visit the historic site Falls Mill, all within the breathtaking setting of Belvidere.

After all your outdoor adventure, or before, definitely pay a visit to Swiss Pantry. Located at 10026 David Crockett Pkwy in Belvidere, this “market” is a must-visit.  Known for their Doughnut Saturday’s held the first and third Saturdays each month, this unique bakery/bulk food store is an icon in this community.

For more than 30 years the proprietors of Swiss Pantry have lovingly served this area with great food items and home baked goods, including  homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, cookies, and fried pies. Watching the bakers work their magic in the open kitchen is the stuff of local legend, as they knead the dough, sprinkle the cinnamon, and fry the delicious pies and doughnuts.

Their sandwiches are a perfect lunch choice, paired with  homemade soup, perfect for the fall and winter seasons. Of course for avid homemade soup lovers, there’s no wrong season to enjoy a cup or a bowl of comforting soup.  Choose a “beautiful sight” in Belvidere for a picnic to share with a loved one, including the grounds of nearby Falls Mill.

In the spring, fresh, locally-sourced strawberries are used to create spectacular strawberry cakes and pies. Fall is the time Swiss Pantry features their colorful, tasty fruitcakes for the holiday season. These goodies go fast.

Swiss Pantry owners are dedicated to lifting up small businesses by hosting local business vendor days in the fall and spring.Year round, inside their amply stocked store, you will find many products from various vendors. The shelves are full of delicious mixes, pickles, baking goods, candy, dried fruits and veggies, to name just a few. Can’t find what you’re looking for?  The staff is friendly and helpful, serving with smiles.

This is one of our favorite places to shop or just to grab something sweet. Stop in and enjoy the Southern hospitality they are famous for.

Don’t just travel Tennessee…EXPERIENCE TENNESSEE and maybe we will see you there on Doughnut Saturday!
